LE SUEUR WINES
Chenin Blanc
ORIGINS
Chenin Blanc 60% | Le Sueur Wines Chenin Blanc is a blend of two different Chenin Blanc sites in the Klein Karoo. 60 % of the grapes are from an older vineyard in Meiringspoort that is grown in arid shale soil. The warmer dry climate of Meiringspoort produces small Chenin Blanc clusters and berries with intense flavour and concentration.
Chenin Blanc 40% | The other 40% of the grapes are form a young vineyard on the northern slopes of the Outeniqua Mountain. This area is much cooler and the vines are planted in rocky ferricrete and sand stone soil. These younger vines and cooler appellation create wines that are fresher with higher acidity and has more tropical fruit flavours.
LE SUEUR WINES
Grenache Rosé
ORIGINS
A small vineyard hidden between Koue Bokkeveld Shale Mountain peaks in the Kammanassie Mountain. 6 Ha of Vines planted during 2012 with various varieties opens the door to create unique and interesting wines. Grenache Noir first planted as bush vines was cut down in 2018 and trellised on VSP to raise the grapes of the ground because of small animals steeling the crop. It was only in 2021 the first real harvest was picked from these then already nine-year-old vines.

The old Chenin vines are planted in decomposed shale soils irrigated with fresh mountain water.
